Lesson Two - First Years Empty
PostSubject: Lesson Two - First Years   Lesson Two - First Years EmptyMon Apr 30, 2012 10:43 am

Alcyone burst into the room in a bubbly mood as she hurried over to her desk and dumped a pile of books and parchment on it. She was excited for the lesson that day - as it was the introduction lesson! Confused? She was sure the students would be, but this is how Alcyone taught. She did a fun lesson first off to get the students interested, and then explain the simple art of transfiguration to them afterwards. This would annoy some, as students weren't that fond of Transfiguration, but they may have many questions from the last lesson that could be answered in this lesson. She turned to the board and wrote 'Introduction to Transfiguration' across it. She knew all of their names and didn't see a reason for that ridiculous getting the students to stand up and introduce themselves - it was cruel.

She knew that as a child, she would've been mortified and angered if she had to stand up in front of everyone and introduce herself as Alcyone Malfoy. She never liked saying her last name before she'd escaped her parents grasp - as it was something that received you many glares. After her parents betrayal against Britain, people began to hate her family once more. However, Alcyone had managed to redeem her family by proving that she was completely faithful to Britain and would not be swayed by the offer of money nor power. She shook her head and returned her thoughts to that of the lesson as she sat down on her desk and waited.

Aislin bolted to class, a grin plastered over her face. She smiled at the teacher and sat down, pulling out her books. She was seated near a window in the middle of the class and had a good view of the class. Aislin scanned over the room and read the board twice by accident.

Hmm, Introduction? Didn't they already have that last lesson? Oh well. Aislin shrugged it off and waited for everyone else to arrive, gladly noting she was first there.

Meliae was next to enter the class she came through the door she enter the room. She took seat at the desk with paper in hand. She was next student she was second to enter the classroom.

She hope they did not do the introduce they where here to learn about turning thing into stuff. She was quiet she hope they would be that is as she study the board they would be doing the introduce to people to tranfiguaration into things.

Maybe this lesson they would be learning maybe some useful tips on how to turn things into certain object and how to make it easy to turn object into anythings. She was quiet and she took the notes and papers writing out what was written on the board. She wrote out the boards and such things.

Rubi walked to Transfiguration, which had proven to be a very hard lesson that she was not that good at. At least not compared to Charms. She was good at Charms. She smiled at the thought, and then remembered where she was headed. She slumped slightly. She wished Jamie was walking with her to class, but since they lived in different common rooms and timing wasn't Rubi's strong suit, it got pretty hard. She sighed and walked into the classroom, seeing two other students already there, and she sat down in the middle of the classroom, not wanting to sit in the back, but definitely not up front.

Carey walked down the corridor to the classroom, feeling pretty ambivalent about transfiguration. He didn't think he hated it, or really liked it. Granted it was mostly from reading and just trying some things out in his dorm the previous night. He would just have to see.

He walked into the room, waving and giving a small smile to Aislin as he walked to sit next to Meliae in the front. He noticed the twin, but did his best to ignore her. He sat down next to Meliae and squinted as he tried to read the board. He hated how blurry the words on the board always were. Oh well, he'd deal, he hadn't noticed it really before then though. He looked at Meliae and smiled a bit in greeting. "Hey, Meli."

He noticed she'd pulled out her book and notes so he did the same, thinking the board must have said to or something.

Jamie entered the classroom with a sigh and walked straight to the back. With her head resting on the wall, she shut her eyes as she always did and focused on calming her nerves and trying not to cry. She felt so weary, and she hoped no one annoyed or spoke to her. She just wanted to get through the lesson without blowing up or bursting into tears.

Meliae was good student all the same yeah she had something on board she had spot and went to writing though it might not important. It would be used to study it later and on how to keep track of each lesson down on paper. So she would not get magical lesson mix up with different subjects.

She notice Aisling interesting girl but she was some what quiet that is. Then she study one words. She got everything and wondering what they would be learning she keep to herself all the same.

Then she notice Carey decide to seat with her not big deal but all the same. "Hi Carey. She said to the boy she keep to herself and she watch the teacher quietly and then she look up board but she did not caused the poor boy much stress but she wonder if there might be something wrong the way he squint his eyes as if it took a lot of work. But still she was little afraid to say anything that she might say the wrong or might come out funny what she was trying to say. She just hope he was not going blind.

Lesson Two - First Years Empty
PostSubject: Re: Lesson Two - First Years   Lesson Two - First Years EmptySat May 05, 2012 3:20 am

Alcyone looked up as the students began to file in and smiled at them, despite the confusion on some of their faces. She drummed her fingers against the desk as she waited for them all to arrive, and with the Hufflepuff, Jamie, entering, she was ready to begin. However, her attention was caught by how weary Jamie looked, and the way she sat in the back of the classroom with her head against the wall. Alcyone felt a surge of compassion for the poor girl, as she knew that lots of students found it hard to adjust to the life at Hogwarts and many felt homesick. She would have to talk to the Head of Hufflepuff - Sergiy Monomyth - about Jamie and maybe prod him into talking to her and assuring her everything would be alright.

Alcyone shook her head, stood up and moved around to the front of the desk. She sat on top of it and grinned at the students in a very cheshire-cat like way. Many of them were confused as to why they were doing an introduction lesson in the second lesson, but Alcyone would merely supply that she liked to do things differently. After all, Transfiguration was a hard subject and they needed a little bit of randomness to make it more fun, to make it stand out from the others. Alcyone folded her hands in her lap neatly, crossed her legs and looked around at the room ready to begin.

"So," she began, un-crossing her legs and slipping off the table. She was in such a bubbly mood today that she decided to walk around up the front a bit. "I know that you probably all think im crazy, as we're doing the introduction lesson in the second lesson, but we all need a bit of random in our lives sometimes. First off, can anyone now tell me what they think Transfiguration is?" She asked.

Carey could just feel his mood plummet as Jamie entered the room. He sighed, just wanting to be done here and get back to his dorm room. He glanced at meliae after pulling his book out and saw that she looked a bit worried. But she often looked worried so he didn't ask her what was wrong. She was always so quiet, so different then how he was, he was still having to get used to it.

He then looked back up to the professor as she moved to the front of her desk. He furrowed his eyebrows a bit at her grin. she then began to walk around a bit, and the moment she mentioned an introduction he rolled his eyes and nearly groaned. It was the second lesson already! What the hell!? He crossed his arms, slouching back in his chair and looked at Meliae when her hand shot up. He smiled as she gave the answer. Such a ravenclaw he mentally teased. She was doing great so far, but he wasn't going to let her get in the way of his house earning points in the future.

Lesson Two - First Years Empty
PostSubject: Re: Lesson Two - First Years   Lesson Two - First Years EmptyMon May 07, 2012 11:24 am

Alcyone looked over at the Ravnelcaw - Meliae - and smiled happily. How proud she was of the ever so quiet student for speaking up. She had done some research on each of her students and discovered that Meliae was Greek. She nodded her head and smiled warmly. "Correct, Meliae! Five points to Ravenclaw." Alcyone's eyes flickered to Carey with much amusement at his outrage over her announcing that it was an introduction lesson. She resisted the more childish urge to poke her tongue out at him and instead waved her wand at the board. Her neat, loopy writing swirled over it, repeating the words as she spoke them.

"Transfiguration is the art of focusing your magic on an object, and turning it from one thing into another. This is not an easy art to master, and I doubt any of you could do this at such a young age," she pointed her wand at a vacant chair and promptly turned into a pig. The darned animal squealed and began to trot off, but she turned it back to a chair and flicked her wand so it slid into pace once more. "But, in time you can master this art. It will require much concentration and focus, and you cannot slack off in this class. If you do not think that you are able to focus enough on this task and try to master it, then I ask you leave my class now. I do not have the time for students who are not going to try." Alcyone then smiled and looked at her watch.

The lesson was over already! Clearly, she'd rambled on for far too long. "Alas, that's all for today. Your homework is to read page 56 of your textbooks - the Art of Transfiguration. I hope to see you all next time." Alcyone waited until they'd all gone before she too took her leave.
