Clara smiled as she lined the very last pot up on the long work bench. It was going to be a good first lesson for her new students. Waving her wand, she unlocked Greenhouse 5's door to allow the students to arrive.

She flicked her wand and one silver watering can appeared in between every two pots. Partner work was simply the best way to start. Clara raised her wand once more and manipulated the chalk to write on the board at the other end of the room.

Today's Instructions:

Find a partner and make sure you both have a pot each, and a watering can to share between you.
Using your textbook, "A Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi," locate the chapter that informs you on how to care for an unknown plant. Using this information, you and your partner will grow your own plant from the pots and care for it until the next lesson.
You may ONLY use your OWN watering can and pots, and switching of partners is not acceptable (please choose your work partner wisely as this will be in place for the next two lessons).

Once you have grown your plant till it has three leaves and a bud, you may start to identify it for the remainder of the lesson. This will become your homework for this lesson as well.

Clara climbed onto a thick branch while she waited for her class. She swept her eyes over the bark and revelled in how healthy it was - seeing as the previous winter it had gotten so sickly...

The class arrived and she hopped down. "My name is Professor O'Keefe, welcome to your first Herbology lesson! You'll find your instructions on the board, and I suggest keeping wands at the ready. You may start as soon as you are ready. Please, don't be shy and ask me anything if you are having trouble!"
