Tacking Up (Nara & Trish) Empty
PostSubject: Tacking Up (Nara & Trish)   Tacking Up (Nara & Trish) EmptySun Mar 25, 2012 8:00 am

Tricia hadn't ridden Thunder for a week and a half now, and she could see that her beautiful stallion was beginning to get restless. She knew she didn't deserve such a perfect horse, but she wasn't ever going to let him go, she told herself that constantly. She sat on her bed now, pulling her blue riding shirt over her head. She stood up, pulled on her banana coloured jodhpur's, followed by her riding boots. Tucked under her arm was her black helmet, and with one look in the mirror she decided she was ready to go with her hair held back in a plait.

Tricia hummed as she moved throughout the maze that was the Black Manor. It was magnificently large but Tricia didn't think that much of it, considering her family owned a majority of Luxembourg and their property was a quarter of the countries size, meaning it was quite a large property. She smiled and thanked her deceased great-grandmother, Bellatrix, for taking over Luxembourg when she'd been re-born via the use of her horcrux. She also thanked her grandfather who had tamed the wild woman and reproduced with her. Tricia grinned as she exited the house, and immediately her german shepherd - Rudolf - came bounding over to her with his tongue sticking out.

"Hey Rudy!" She cried, dropping the helmet and opening her arms. He jumped up, placed his paws on her shoulders and licked her face. She shoved him off with a disgusted noise. "Eugh!" She exclaimed, wiping her face and picking up her helmet. He barked happily, but she knew his playful personality could easily turn deadly if he ever felt the need to protect her, or her family. "Im going for a ride, you wanna come watch?" She asked as she walked across the cobblestone path and down the hill to the stables. He trotted along after her, his ears pricked up as he realised they were going to see the horses. His tail wagged madly, for Rudolf adored the horses.

Nara pulled the comb through Twyla's long mane. White hair was covering her pink and purple vest, and her cream joddies had only just managed to stay cream. She just finished plaiting her baby's mane when she heard Rudy, Trish's dog, barking in the distance. That meant Trish was coming down to see the horses! About time, too. That horse of hers is so bored, Nara thought.

Her white helmet was lying off to the side, next to the black synthetic saddle and reins on the fence rail. Nara's hair was purposefully tied up in a low ponytail so she could easily fit her helmet over it. Walking over, she lifted the pink-chequered, white-trimmed saddle blanket out from under the saddle and placed it on the horse's back. She turned and went back to retrieve the saddle.

Tacking Up (Nara & Trish) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Tacking Up (Nara & Trish)   Tacking Up (Nara & Trish) EmptySun Mar 25, 2012 8:32 am

Tricia could hear the sounds of horses hooves stomping against their hay-covered stalls, and many snorts and nickers followed. One of their breeding mares, Betzi, stuck her head over the fence of her stall and whinnied softly to her. Rudy growled slightly, but Tricia whacked him over the head to get him to stop. "I won't have any of that, mister." She hissed to her dog, who gave her an annoyed look and trotted up ahead to see Thunder. Tricia walked over to the brown mother of Thunder and ran her fingers through her beautiful mane. "Hey Betzi." She cooed to the mare, who nuzzled her nose into Tricia's shoulder. Tricia laughed, before she patted her mare on the star atop her head and continued on to the tack room.

Tricia could hear Nara saddling up one of her own horses, and she eagerly grabbed her black, jumping saddle and bridle/reins ensemble. She threw the bride/reins ensemble over her shoulder, her now free hand reaching out to grab the black sheepskin. She placed that on top of the saddle before she then did the same with Thunder's navy and white striped saddle blanket. She exited the tack room and went down a few stalls to Thunder's, where Rudy sat waiting impatiently. She threw the saddle over the stall door, and placed the bridle next to it before she pulled open the latch, stepped inside and shut it behind her. Thunder's grooming kit was on a shelf that had a door covering it so her curious stallion wouldn't explore. "Hey Nara," she called out, knowing now that Nara was tacking up her filly whom was in the stable across from Thunder's.

Tacking Up (Nara & Trish) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Tacking Up (Nara & Trish)   Tacking Up (Nara & Trish) EmptySun Mar 25, 2012 11:25 am

Footsteps echoed down the hall as Tricia gathered her gear and moved to her horse, Thunder's, stall. Nara heard the door to the stable open and close with Trish's entry just as she was doing up the girth.

"Hey, Trish. I'm glad you've finally decided to ride Thunder. He's been getting so bored," she said, kneeing Twyla to get her to let out some of the air she was holding in. Trouble with this horse, Nara thought, shaking her head. After a few tries, she finally managed to get the girth tight enough so that she and the saddle wouldn't slide under Twyla's belly the minute she mounted.

"I would've taken him out after Twyla if you hadn't come down." She pulled the last buckle into place and slipped the bridle over the filly's head. The bit was covered in apple flavour to make it more pleasant for the picky filly. "You know what? I cannot wait for the day when this little girl grows up and stops being so fussy," she said, grinning.

Leading Twyla out of the stall, she grasped the reins, closed the door and leant over to watch her twin tacking up Thunder. Twyla snorted and stomped her foot impatiently - she'd just gone through all that to wait some more! Blasphemy.

Tacking Up (Nara & Trish) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Tacking Up (Nara & Trish)   Tacking Up (Nara & Trish) EmptySun Mar 25, 2012 11:43 am

Tricia laughed softly at that, she knew he was getting bored by the way his ears pricked up and he became very cuddly when she stepped inside. Continuously, he would stomp his foot due to impatience. "I know he has, im going to train him up so we can enter some competitions together!" Tricia grabbed the grooming kit, shut the little door, placed it on the floor and opened it up. She hummed to herself as she got out the brush and brushed his coat quickly. She'd give it a more intense brush once they were done. She tossed the brush back into the kit and went over to his front leg.

There, she trailed her hand from the top of his leg right to the bottom, where she pulled until he reluctantly lifted his hoof up for her. She swung her other hand around and grabbed the hoof, holding it up. Luckily, he hadn't collected much dirt and she decided she'd clean out his hooves afterward. She gave his nose a little scratch as he bumped it against her shoulder. "Aww, does the ickle Thunder want a cuddle?" She cooed. She grabbed the saddle blanket and the sheepskin, throwing the blanket onto his back and arranging it so it was perfect before she placed the sheepskin on top.

"Aww, don't do that Nara. Otherwise, i'll just get lazy and leave you to take care of him." Tricia protested, touched that her sister cared so much about her horse to do that for him. She saw Rudy's head pop up over the gate to the stall as he stood on his hind legs. "Yes, yes, im coming." She snapped to her impatient dog, who barked back and jumped down. Tricia rolled her eyes as she moved over to the saddle and slid her arms under it. She shifted its weight to one arm, pulled the girth up and lifted the saddle up and onto Thunder's back. She reached under Thunder and grabbed the girth, buckling it up loosely until she was going to ride.

She heard Nara lead Twyla out of the stall and smiled softly as she spied her sister waiting for her. "I'll only take a moment." She said as she grabbed the bridle. She wrapped it in her hand and fought for a moment with Thunder, her fingers pressing the bit against the crack in his teeth. She pressed her thumb against his tongue through the gap in his teeth, and finally he allowed the bit to slide into his mouth. She slid the bridle up his head and hooked it over his ears, before doing up all of the necessary buckles and taking ahold of the reins. She led him out of the stall and snapped at Rudy to walk beside her. "Alright, lets go ride!"

Tacking Up (Nara & Trish) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Tacking Up (Nara & Trish)   Tacking Up (Nara & Trish) EmptySun Mar 25, 2012 11:59 am

Nara smiled excitedly. "Oh, goody! It'll take us about a year of steady training before we're ready, because of school and all, but we'll get there!" She exclaimed, jumping up and down a bit with anticipation. "I can't wait!"

She shrugged. "I care about any horse enough to not let them waste away in a stall when their owner becomes neglectful," she said, raising a meaningful eyebrow at Trish. "Don't worry," she laughed, teasing. "No one can get more lazy than you!" Nara ducked out of the way of the slap she knew was going to come eventually.

Trish finally finished tacking up and her Rudy raced outside and then back again, barking with excitement about going for a run. "Shh, Rudy! You'll spook old Duck!" Old Duck was the oldest stallion on the property. He was nearly 31 this year, and the old thing was retired. The slightest bump got that old grey man tossed up. It was quite a scene, too, when he made it so.

Nara lead Twy quickly out of the stables and onto the mounting patch out the front door. Chucking the reins over the pale-coated horse's head, she stuck her left foot in the stirrup and swung up. Twyla moved forward just as she sat in the saddle and Nara fumbled with her right foot a bit until she found the other stirrup. "Problem horse, this one is!" She said, swinging Twyla around to face Thunder and Trish. "Never stands still! But I guess that's what you get with such a young girl."

"Hurry up, Tricia!" Nara pressed when Twyla pawed at the ground. "We're already to go! Tighten that girth! C'mon! Get on 'im already!" She 'encouraged' with a sly grin.

Tacking Up (Nara & Trish) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Tacking Up (Nara & Trish)   Tacking Up (Nara & Trish) EmptySun Mar 25, 2012 12:30 pm

Tricia was glad that Nara was excited at that prospect, for she most definitely was. It would be good to get back into her horse riding, she'd been slightly neglectful as of late, too busy with climbing trees and the likes. Climbing trees was one of her favourite past times, and it always amazed people when she reached the top without stumbling once. She shuddered as she remembered the time that she'd fallen out of a tree near the top and broken her leg, arm and wrist.

"Yup, we'll get there one day. I wonder if the paparazzi will try to sneak in and watch us train today, remember last time?" Tricia and Nara were the daughters of two of the most prestigious, well-known, talented and richest people in Luxembourg, so naturally everyone knew them. Tricia could remember that last time they'd been training on the horses, when suddenly there'd been a bunch of flashes of the cameras of the papa and some squealing fans of their mothers. It was mostly their mother the paparazzi were after, but they also tried to get in their fathers good books.

Tricia frowned at Nara, and once she had exited the stall she swiped for her head, but her twin managed to evade her hand with pure skill that came from years of being hit over the head. However, Tricia had decided to up the levels and the moment Nara lifted her head she took her opportunity and cuffed her around the back of her head with a loud cheer. "Ha! Take that!" She grinned devilishly at her twin.

Tricia pressed her finger to her lips at Rudy, who growled playfully and went over to her side obediently. Old Duck was indeed very old, and his temper tantrums were quite the sight. She wasn't in the mood for them, so she silently prayed that Rudy would remain silent. Luckily for her, the dog did and he troddled along beside her with his tongue hanging lazily out of his mouth. Tricia stuck her tongue out at Nara as she hurried her along. She pulled the girth up as tight as she could, her face scrunched up in concentration as she pushed the buckle in and released. She tucked away the straps and prepared to climb on.

"Impatient she is, but I think Thunder's far more eager today." Tricia commented as he stomped his foot and huffed in annoyance as he waited for her to climb on. She pulled his reins over his head, gripped them and a few tufts of hair tightly in one hand, placed her foot in the stirrup and hoisted herself up and over him. She was glad that she was a super jumper and had loads of practice pulling her body up, as she wouldn't've made it up onto his back otherwise. "Im up, im up!" Tricia spoke in her whiniest tone as she pouted at Nara, before looking at the gap between them and the arena. They could easily warm up the horses by cantering, and it would be a good long canter. "Race ya." She grinned, shifting herself so that she was comfortable before urging Thunder into a steady canter and moving her body with his as his hooves thundered across the earth.

She squealed as Tricia's palm collided with the back of her head. "Not fair!" she said, pouting, then grinning.

Nara nodded. "You'd be right, he's absolutely itching for a ride!"

Nara grinned. "You're on," she squealed, nudging Twyla forwards. She'd always known the filly to be fast, and the girl had a smooth gait, which you could easily gallop on comfortably. She clicked her tongue and squeezed with her legs, noticing the gap widening between her and her sister. That was quickly closed and soon they were riding side by side. She stuck out her tongue and leaned forwards on Twyla, encouraging her to gain just that last bit of speed.

Tricia smirked at Nara as she pouted at stuck her tongue out at her twin. She almost laughed and voiced her disbelief that Nara thought she could out-smart her. Clearly, Tricia deemed herself the more devious out of the duo.

Tricia scratched between Thunder's ear, knowing that was his favourite spot was right there. His lip wobbled as he stuck his head out and tilted it to get a better scratching angle. "Use, itching for a ride aren't cha fella?" She cooed, and in response who stomped his hoof and lifted his head out of her grasp with an annoyed and impatient snort. She rolled her eyes and pat him on the nose.

Tricia knew that Twyla was incredibly fast, it was quite amazing. However, Thunder wasn't a brilliant horse for no reason, and his speed easily matched Twyla's as he caught up with her once more when she closed the gap and raced ahead. Tricia admitted though that Twyla's gallop was beautiful, graceful and it looked as if she was flying across the earth. Tricia leant back to even out the weight of Thunder and she felt him fly across the earth as he managed to close the gap and ride side by side with Twyla. Just as they neared the arena, Tricia pulled up and laughed heartily as Thunder panted. "Tie! No fair!" She pouted and pointed at Twyla. "She is an amazingly fast runner for a filly, she'll easily beat Thunder when she matures."

Nara laughed openly, reining in her horse as they tied at the arena. "I know she will. She almost beet him then, if only he'd been in better shape he would have one instead of tied," Nara said, a little breathlessly. It always made her adrenaline rush through her whenever she raced.

"You know," she began, trotting over to Trish, "I think maybe I should train this one up for racing. Though, she's such a pretty darling I think dressage really is more her thing."

Tricia grinned, Twyla was a beautiful horse and her talents seemed to lie in racing and dressage, though she wasn't all that bad at Show Jumping - which was Thunder's area of expertise. He was alright at dressage, good at racing, but he really shone in Show Jumping. He was useless when it came to Steeplechase though. "Yes, she's really good at dressage too." Tricia smiled softly, before she moved Thunder to the gate to the arena.

She leant over and reached her hand out so that she could flip the latch up and push the gate open. Once they were both inside, she shut it behind them and smirked at her amazing skills on a horse. "Yes, im amazing, you don't have to thank me or tell me so." Tricia grinned.

Nara rolled her eyes. "Stop being so full of yourself," she said as she trotted into the arena. "And yes, Twyla is an amazingly brilliant horse." She grinned and started doing serpentines, for fun.

"So," she started. "Which house do you reckon we'll be in at Durmstrang?" Nara personally was quite excited to go to school. They'd been homeschooled most of their lives, and being famous and all made the other kids wary of playing with them, or too star-struck to stop gaping at them for a second to even talk to them. It was fairly frustrating. "You know, I hope no one really knows us or cares that we're famous at Durmie. That would be nice."

Nara urged Twyla into a smooth canter and did random patterns around the arena before moving over to the other one to go over a few jumps.
